Protection Bollards: At Scott Metals our Security Bollards are manufactured from Structural Grade Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Pipe.

Type 1 Bollards consist of the Hot Dip Galvanized Pipe cut to length (1600mm) and come complete with a Galvanized Metal Cap.

Type 2 Bollards consist of the Hot Dip Galvanized Pipe cut to length (1100mm) and capped with a Galvanized Metal Cap. A 250mm square 10mm thick base plate is fully welded to the pipe with a minimum 6mm continuous fillet weld, ensuring strength and structural integrity. After fabrication the plate and weld area are painted with a Cold Galvanized primer to assist with rust prevention. (Round Base Plates are also available however extra fabrication time is required).

Should you require extra protection from the elements, then we recommend using Fully Hot Dip Galvanized option for Type 2 Bollards. Hot Dip Galvanizing is a process where the bollard, after manufacture, is completely immersed in molten zinc. This thick metallic zinc coating, that completely covers the bollard and base plate, inside and out, provides a superior corrosion resistant finish.

Lead Times: The majority of our Type 1 and Type 2 Standard Protection Bollards are fabricated to order within 24 hours. For Hot Dip Galvanized or Powder Coated finished bollards please allow up to 10 working days.

Alternative Designs: Round, Square and Rectangular steel sections in various sizes, lengths, thickness and finishes, are used in the production of security bollards. Different top or base configurations may be requested as well as side eyelets for chain attachment or any other special requirements.
