| Polycarbonate is one of the most advanced thermoplastic polymers available. The sheets are manufactured to match the profiles of steel roofing. Polycarbonate sheeting is quick and easy to install, is flexible and virtually unbreakable, giving superb resistance to impact from hailstones, and also has the remarkable UV shielding capacity of 99%. Polycarbonate sheets are ideal for applications requiring high light transmission. Clear Polycarbonate roof sheeting transmits some 90% of light with heat transmission as high as 85%. Tinted sheets reduce the glare and transmit less heat than clear but have a corresponding loss of light transmission (see table). Never use any sealant other than a co-polymer sealant which is specifically formulated to be compatible with polycarbonate sheeting. The use of incompatible sealants can weaken and damage the sheet. Special, chemically compatible, weather-lock seals and screws are available for use with Polycarbonate roofing. To allow for expansion of sheets, oversized screw holes (10mm minimum) should be drilled prior to fixing. Polycarbonate roofing comes with a lifetime warranty. Lightweight, resistant to weathering, self extinguishing, UV shielding, flexible enough to curve, impact resistant, high light transmission and anti-ageing properties - all these characteristics and more make Polycarbonate roof sheeting a product without comparison. | |||
