Shade Sail Posts: At Scott Metals we use 100x100x4mm Supagal RHS in the manufacture of Shade Sail Posts for domestic applications. This product is pre-galvanized, inside and out, grade AS1163 - C350/450LO material. The total coating thickness of Supagal pre-galvanized sections is twice that of any other product that is currently available. TYPE 1 Shade Sail Posts consist of the Supagal RHS Tube cut to your specific length and come complete with a Galvanized Metal Cap and a 12mm Stainless Steel Eyelet. TYPE 2 Shade Sail Posts consist of the Supagal RHS cut to your specific length and come with a Galvanized Metal Cap and a 12mm Stainless Steel Eyelet. A 250mm square 10mm thick base plate is fully welded to the post with a minimum 6mm continuous fillet weld, ensuring strength and structural integrity. After fabrication the plate and weld area are painted with a Cold Galvanized primer to assist with rust prevention. (Round Base Plates are available, extra fabrication time is required). Should you require extra protection from the elements, then we recommend using Fully Hot Dip Galvanized option for Type 2 Shade Sail Posts. Hot Dip Galvanizing is a process where the post, after fabrication, is completely immersed in molten zinc. This thick metallic zinc coating, that completely covers the post and base plate, inside and out, provides a superior corrosion resistant finish. Lead Times: The majority of our Type 1 and Type 2 Standard Shade Sail Posts are fabricated to order within 24 hours. For Powder Coated or Hot Dip Galvanized finished posts please allow a minimum of 10 working days for manufacture and surface application.
